Empowered adolescents grow into leaders and role models in their communities

We use mixed-gender sports to help adolescents break gender barriers and build socio-emotional skills.

Our tool for change is Ultimate Frisbee - a sport built on fairness, sportsmanship and inclusion

We use Ultimate Frisbee, a mixed-gender sport, to empower adolescents from vulnerable communities—breaking gender barriers and building 21st-century skills like communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.

THE CHALLENGE

Youth from vulnerable communities have very little access to support systems and role-models.

There are little to no opportunities to explore their identities and build foundational social and emotional skills, both in school and outside. Many of these youth, especially girls, are faced with challenges like early marriage, gender inequality, unfinished schooling, substance abuse and domestic violence.

We are currently working with marginalised communities in

  • The fishing communities of Chennai

  • Tribal communities in Gudalur

HOW WE DO IT

Our work is impactful because it is driven by youth belonging to the communities we work in

All our programs have been developed and refined over time to build a sustainable cycle of change. We provide opportunities for youth to undergo training to facilitate and deliver our curricula independently. This amplifies the impact, reaching more youth and the next generation in their surrounding communities.
